Ok I have narrowed it down to 3 class D heads

I've been using the Mesa D-800 with three of the Subway cabs. With the impedance switch set to two ohms, the amp is happy to look at three or four 8 ohm cabs. (My regular gig is with a rowdy rock band in a rowdy rock club.)

If you're using a modular rig with single-woofer cabs, it can sometimes be nice to have that much paper pushing air. I've actually turned the amp down when I ran three cabs instead of two. More amp headroom, with increased speaker displacement.

Three cabs, 2ohms, 800 watts? You're my hero!

I have two AudioKinesis H1203's. I wonder if I got the Mesa and bought one more H1203... hmmmmm....
I have been drawn to the Mesa since all the raves over the last couple years. For the life of me I don't know why I went to the GK instead. Well, I'm making a trip here soon and might buy myself an early Christmas gift...

mesa....gk's have too many problems

I'm equally pleased by GK and Mesa products, and I've owned several amps from both. I've never had a GK amp fail or "act up," but I've had two Mesa amps that required warranty service. My MB 800 and MB Fusion 800 amps have logged hundreds of gigs (well, maybe "lots" is more accurate than "hundreds"), and they've performed flawlessly. BTW, Mesa's warranty service was quick and effective. These are great companies that deserve their excellent reputations.
