Ok I need another bass amp..

Why? Because the tone in a band setting can be easily masked by the rest of the band and disappear in the mix. Its something every successful FOH engineer and bass player learn as they progress.
If you are looking for a “bedroom tone”, that’s going to be a personal thing and may take more effort than you expect to achieve. Also, your personal taste may change along the way, even day to day, so there’s this challenge as well.
It has nothing to do with lowering your expectations either.
Because most musicians aspire to play with others. If that does not apply to you, then by all means disregard my comments.
Lol.. yes sure. Of course I will be playing with others. But I also play a great deal completely alone. And this solo sound is what I was specifically seeking with this thread which was made pretty clear in my opening comment.
There's plenty of time later to work on a sound for a band situation.
Meanwhile I appreciate all the comments and suggestions received from all as it's all so very informative and educational for me and I discovered gear I didn't even know existed. So I thank you all.

Meanwhile I Just began building my PJB rig..
BP-800 and one C4 Cab arrived in the morning and the cable arrived for the PJB gear around 6 hours later. First time in my life I've ever bought her head and speaker cab without ever having tried it or even heard one in person.
Zero regrets.
Plugged my Ibanez 5-strings in, and flipping back and forth between both basses I played for a straight 7 hours!!
I only have a single C4 cab at the moment but oh my what a sound.. both basses sound just beautifully full, round warm, organic and alive. Even playing simple scales are a total joy. I can really hear the 'woodyness' of the instruments.
So nice to have found a 'beginning' sound I really like for both the active and passive bass.. particularly with the piezo bridge pickup on the fretless. Can't wait to hear how an upright bass sounds on this rig.
I wonder how many C4's can be daisy chained together..

I sent my Markbass head and cab back. Big, fat, loud sound but didn't go too well with the AeroSilk Piezo system bridge on the fretless. Sounded and felt flat and one dimensional.
I have an intended use for this. An amp for my bridge PU only, for a very small stereo rig.

Cool! I'm getting ready to dive into phase 2 with this bass, XLR output is 4 conductor variant allowing using standard starquad cable:
Standard two pickup summing and BMT preamp on one conductor, buffered bridge pickup on second wire with filter preamp module in breakout box, going to a DIY 100 watt tube amp optimized for slide bass. Volume pedal on floor for slide bass side. A stereo Spark Amp would probably work great for the slide side too, actually.

. The number of cabs you can run depends on the minimum impedance your amp can push. It looks like you are running a BP-800. The website says 4-ohms minimum. This is annotated on the back panel under the Speaker out.
The C4 is rated for 8 ohms. If you daisy chain a pair, they are connected in parallel and the resulting load is 4 ohms, which is the minimum the BP-800 can push.
Three C4s would present a 2.67 ohm load, and four would present a 2 ohm load. With an amp rated for 2 ohms you could push four C4s.
If cost was not an issue I would buy this:

Super HIFI full tube head, discribed as organic and touch responsive.
From what I read on their Facebook page, the majority of bassists who use these amps play jazz, which doesn't mean that it is limited to jazz music, but at least it should be well suited for a very sensitive playing style, fretless.

I have a sisma, but I am tempted by the Lesuire as well.
Ah ah. I also have a Sisma, so I would be tempted by the Volta more than the Lesuire just because I love and trust Jad Freer, but I don't have the $ anyway and I don't think I would buy such an amp without truying in any case.
