Ok, where's the $50 bass, then?

That really does look cool. A little set up and some polishing on that chrome and it could be awesome. If nothing else it will be great for smashing on stage, or giving to a Doernbecker kid, which is what I did with my no-name vintage crap. Anything to get the next generation of rockers started.

This one looks like its from the same family..

Nothing like a good mystery right before Christmas!! That made me feel like I was 8 years old all over again. Thanks for including us in your anticipatory adventure!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Me too! I think you got a great deal. It could've been a bucket and a broomstick. A great bass as it is, vintage for sure, maybe not buckage vintage, but clean it up and it could be very very cool. Heck, it's already cool. Thanks for making me smile during the Holidays. Been some big stuff going on in my life, and that was a welcome respite.

Now, maybe he'll find a $50 vintage amp for ya!

Where do i start. . . When I first came across this thread I was intrigued. After three days of following the thread, explaining to my fiance what it was about and checking to see any progress at the most random of times. . . I just got an order from my woman demanding that I check on the mystery bass and if I hear ANYTHING text her immediately

I cannot wait to marry this woman!!! :hyper:

And the mystery bass is definitely a vintage silvertone that needs to be restored and rocked hard:bassist:

Ampeg how does it feel to have reached people across the world? Bet ya never thought the mystery bass would be so legendary.

Very Cool....looks like something from the 60's or 70's. Possibly from the Sears catalog even!!! Which for me would be excellent!!

What a nice way to bring us all together this Christmas!!

Now you must post pix of you actually playing it at a gig maybe even a sound clip too!!

I'm the guy with the flooded house. Fortunately, it wasnt as bad as it could've been. Of course, it would've been better if it never happened at all!

BUT, my family is OK, the house is still livable and we dont have to spend Christmas in a motel! :) PLUS no harm was done to my basses.

Seriously though, this was a REAL wild ride and I'm glad I was along for a good chunk of it!!

Thanks, Ampegfuzz, and all you other lunatics for keeping me laughing when I was thinking about crying (somehow, I think that could be the start of a country song)

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy whatever-you-may-celebrate to all!!!!!!
