Ok, where's the $50 bass, then?

Ampegfuzz,

"Exception" in shipping parlance means any number of things ranging from:

Oops, sorry, but our expert staff did not get your package on the right truck at the right time, so we'll try again tomorrow, but it's not really our fault so we don't owe you a refund.

To:

Oops, sorry, but our expert staff has misplaced your package and will try to have found it by tomorrow, but it's not really our fault so we don't owe you a refund.

To:

Oops, sorry, but our expert staff has destroyed your package, but it's not really our fault so we don't owe you a refund.

In my case it's usually something like:

Oops, sorry, but since you live in Canada you don't deserve to have anything delivered on time, and that's definitely not our fault so we don't owe you a refund.

Hang in there buddy, and keep your eyes open for "posse-like" activity. Also, if you start another thread, please make sure to post a link here - I'm sure there are any number of us dying for an update; for a while there last night my life seemed to have real meaning. :ninja:

well ups changed the status right before i went to bed to a exception. Meaning they didn't deliver it. so i will watch on my phone at work all day and figure something out, but they need to deliver it today. I will post pics here first and start another thread in the basses forum (if thats ok with the mods) when pics come. keep the faith!

Your $50 mystery bass support group Instigator. :D :bawl:
I've always called the local Ooops sorting center when I've gotten "Exception" notices on their website. I've always asked for them to hold said package until I arrive and collect it. I've gotten a refund once out of probably a dozen or more times. The refund was after 6 days of non-delivery, and I had paid for 2nd-day air. I had to get somewhat nasty to get that one, as well. Lesson learned, don't use their 2nd-day air service. They don't fly it, they truck it anyway, so why pay more?

Or just use Federal Express for your air or ground delivery. Their ground service is faster. Plus, they are almost always cheaper and I have found them to be more reliable. A win win

btw: I have no affiliation w/Fedex whatsoever

hmmmmmm, No Good can come from this. :rollno:

Thread number 2 was closed before I could even join.

Ken

Taking a stab and complete wild guess here......I think the threads were closed since the mod could have likely thought the whole thing was a joke, no bass exists, and it was just causing an uproar in the basses forum. Those kind of trainwrecks are usually reserved for off topic, hence the wrong forum, or if he assumed it was 2000 replies of people "taking the bait", closed.

I can't think of any other reason it would be handled that way, ryan is a cool dude. So now we carry on here, until the bass shows up. At that point....ironically we're in the wrong forum again.

All I now is that I need a # for the support group. Instead of directing a posse from Texas, I left work and was admitted into a rehab center for 8 hours. While there, I was forced to attend a Mystery Bass group therapy session with some fellow Central Texas TB'ers, and they were in the process of forming a MBA (mystery Bass anonymous) group when the hospital administrators discovered that all of the trauma was over a $50 bass that UPS was tardy in delivering.

Saying something about "we only help real people with real problems", I was booted unceremoniously from the facility, and I limped home to read the 2 threads before they got locked.

I only have one question: Which one of the UPS girls pictured is actually making the delivery? And (OK two questions), will the delivery by said girl result in letter to Penthouse Forum?

That is all, except Merry Christmas!:hyper:

Wow, three threads, two forums, and it won't die!
