I doubt I'd go botique even if I hit the big lottery, but for $2,000 G&L would be building me a custom SB-2000, same SB 2 pickups but with L2000 electronics...chrome yellow, matching hradstock, pearl white pickguard, ebony fretboard.
I'm pretty sure this is their standard yellow, but the lighting gives it the metallic look I want.

True, but then I wouldn't be able to say "When I say Chrome Yellow, I don't mean Yukon Gold, I mean a cross between Yukon Gold and Yellow Fever!"

Seriously, though, I'd be happy with either color. The MFD puckups and upgraded electronics are the important thing.

I'd pay soseone to make an identical copy of my main bass, so I could have two! I'd put different pickups in the second one so I could have access to new and exciting tones on the same platform that I already love.

That, or I'd buy a Sandberg VM4.

Another Spector Euro used and pocket some cash. Color not too concerned about but probably red or green as my first one is blue. If I found another blue, I'd probably be my first pick...

I would buy a late 70s Yamaha BB1000 tobacco burst or BB800 black and pocket the $1500 or $1600 I'd have left over.

Or a BB2000, BB1600 or BB3000! That is some seriously useful advice.

Just to be ridiculous I went to the site and built a Bromberg and had to make it a Koa body ($600 option) in order to get the price over $2000. Anything I could possibly want in a bass they would do for well under that.
