I doubt I'd go botique even if I hit the big lottery, but for $2,000 G&L would be building me a custom SB-2000, same SB 2 pickups but with L2000 electronics...chrome yellow, matching hradstock, pearl white pickguard, ebony fretboard.
I'm pretty sure this is their standard yellow, but the lighting gives it the metallic look I want.

True, but then I wouldn't be able to say "When I say Chrome Yellow, I don't mean Yukon Gold, I mean a cross between Yukon Gold and Yellow Fever!"I think they have a color called Yukon gold that would be close to what you describe
What bass would you buy...model,color,etc.?
I would buy a late 70s Yamaha BB1000 tobacco burst or BB800 black and pocket the $1500 or $1600 I'd have left over.
a tricked out Kiesel/Carvin
Any Carvin/Kiesel Bass.
