I'm more impressed by the fact that the guy says he learned it by ear. HOW!? How do you decipher what the bassist is doing through all that extraneous... well, noise?

Composing and writing music has always been more profitable than wiggling your fingers very fast. From Jaco to Paganini, the greatest technical innovators are remembered more for the songs they wrote. Almost any competent bass player can learn to play Continum or Portrait of Tracy, but who amongst us could write such beautiful songs?
Opinion. We can all have them. Deal with it.
