i tried but to no avail. i'd hate to think she stole it, she just didn't strike me as that kind of person. perhaps she just ... forgot. :eyebrow:

I'm thinking maybe the bass was damaged or stolen from her, and she just hasn't come on to tell us about it. She's had it in her possession for about a year now, and obviously has some internet access as she's posted in May (even if she didn't, all libraries do, or she could have picked up the phone and called any number of people). Accepting the bass meant taking on at least a TINY bit of responsibility and not just going silent about it for a year.

The main thing you know for sure after nine months is that it's definitely not yours.

It's actually at about 11 months now.

Well I am only saying that we don't know for sure what is going on. To say she stole it implies she made a concious decision to not give it to anyone in order to increase her personal gain.

I'm just giving her the benefit of the doubt and hoping something less "sinister" is going on.

And I've played MANY high-end basses. And YES, high-end basses are more versatile soundwise, they are also DEFINITELY better looking.

BUT my wishbass is probably the FUNNEST bass I've ever played (with the exception of slappin' and poppin' a beautiful Musicman Stingray). But when it comes to playing an awesome earthy-sounding fretless with LOADS of MWAH! and with the really nice chunky neck feel of an upright. WISH GETS MY VOTE! PERIOD!

And they cost so little, EVERY serious (and non-serious) basses should own one.
