Nothing wrong with sound or feel. Except ... I bought the set used and the Sonores G was unraveling, so I put the Olive on, expecting it would work.

Let's see how the Oliv G behaves in the coming months...but...what a tone and feel!!! I love it! I'm a believer now.I'm visiting my local luthier today to have the bridge and nut widen for an Oliv G. Let see what the fuss is all about!
Talkbass classifiedsAnyone know the cheapest place to get them? Lowest I can find is $110
I saw your wanted add and was very tempted to offer you my then unused Oliv but I had to try it and now...i guess that there is no going back. The oliv D is calling me now.The wait is always so long though haha
Roger to that.Oh no. Well if you get them both and don't want them I call 1st dibs
I liked the oliv D a lot on my bass. I don't know what your climate is like but here in Michigan the D and G tuning stability was awful! I've considered trying just the G, one string that doesn't want to stay in tune is something I can live with probably.I saw your wanted add and was very tempted to offer you my then unused Oliv but I had to try it and now...i guess that there is no going back. The Oliv D can be very dark.
Hope it works for you!
Weather here is not very extreme. Nice weather all year round; not too hot and humid in the summer neither too cold and dry in the winter. I'll see how the G behaves and if everything goes well and I still love it in 5-6 months then I might go for the D.I liked the oliv D a lot on my bass. Update: My Oliv G is behaving quite well. I only need to tune it when I pickup the bass and maybe once or twice if it's a long session and only by a few cents. My Spiro D sounds great but now I can't help thinking about how an Oliv D would sound. In any case, I'm going to keep the bass with this setup until I see how the G behaves in the summer when I have a lot of outdoor gigs.Weather here is not very extreme. That's the idea. That's smart. See how you can deal all year before you have 2 misbehaving strings
