Looks like they cut the body wings off, I don't see a glue line on the upper horn, and that's way longer than the original. Headstock has been heavily altered too.

My 1st thoughts as well but looking at a comparison, I'm not so sure.

I think the upper horn is original.

Original Rick, Walnut, upper horn, inside point on lines up with the 14 fret, tip of horn at the 13th. Modded Rick looks slightly longer but that could be a parallax view error. Either way, the mod looks well crafted. Just a little Gumby like.

Ric shapes have varied quite a bit throughout the years. This is a 1980 4001.

The good news is you could cut the body and headstock wings off and restore it to original. Of course, it would be cheaper to just buy a new one.

The horns look kinda neat, but I would never do that. The body reduction by the pickguard looks hot garbage.

Agree, they needed to leave at least 1/4 inch or more, following the curve of the pickguard.

But the other part that looks hot garbage to me is that the size of the bridge pickup looks so disproportionate because of the body reduction.
