onboard guitar effects - wired to a bass pickup....will it work?

sooo i have this old 80s cort guitar laying around. i dont like it, its heavy as hell and i dont use it b/c i have others that tinker with...so i was looking at it and thought -
would these onboard effects work if i was to wire it to a bass pickup? would it sound good?
what about using the guitar pickups WITH a bass pickup?

just thinking out loud here and seeing what others might think / know....i got too much time on my hands! lol

i have no idea of the guitar itself, it was bought from sears in the 80s. its a '' cort '' guitar...check it out.

Over in the FAQ of the Effects subforum you'll see that "guitar" effects are used all the time by bassists. The only issue is whether any of the low end is cut off, especially by the distortion. But hey, think of this as an opportunity to learn how to mod cheap effects pedals for more low end.
