This one intrigues me... does the "bridge" pickup get sort of an MM sound?
I don’t think it sounds quite like an mm, more like a P with less fatness by itself.
99% of the time I run both pickups together at full… its pretty magical. When I was figuring out the placement for the 2 split coils I tried all sorts of placements for them on a test bass I built. It really came alive when I placed them together in that spot.

Thanks for the replies. I needed some inspiration. It's actually nice to see that they aren't all ridonkulously expensive choices.

After a somewhat worthless journey of buying and selling, I'm looking for a keeper. Okay, maybe 2!

So looking around the forum was useful, but having a bunch of fresh replies in this thread was very helpful, even if some people think it's pointless.
