Billy Gould. And that was an old post. I now have a preamp that formed the basis of his Peavey MarkIII/MarkIV tones, the two predecessors to that two channel preamp.

One is a preamp in a pedal that duplicated their pre in their Century amp, and the other was the later Centurion preamp.

I find the way to get the closest to the tones I like is still to stack two preamps/overdrives.

I have enjoyed Billys'work.It is a great thing to find your sound.I have in the last 6 months or so become very interested in preamps and now own 6 different ones.I would have loved these options back in my salad days but for the most part they didn't exist.

Nope, and they pretty much sound best when left alone.

Thanks a lot. Just got it used, would not try to change the trim pots without knowing some specs, but was wondering as I read your comment about them...

I messed with them for a bit in an effort to even out the distorted channel volume. No dice I’m afraid. I put them back to stock position.
