One Pickup Ripper

I surprisingly won the bid for this seemingly authentic Gibson Ripper, except for the white pickguard and single pickup. My guess (and hope) is that under guard I find the routing for a standard Ripper. Time will tell, the bass will be here in about a week and I’ll post an update.

In the meantime: Anyone ever seen anything like this before?

Looks more like a modified Ripper to me...which would be a whole lot easier to execute than trying to graft a Ripper neck onto a Grabber body.

I have a Serek Lincoln Grabber being made. Have a Decibel Gripper I’m hopefully taking reception of and the plan is another Serek Lincoln L3 (G3).

I feel the same! Wish I could afford a Lincoln, but this Ripper will fit the bill I think! And I am curious to hear how the current setup sounds. Tracking shows delivery on Friday so I will provide an update this weekend!

Thats the plan, and I absolutely agree.

I have a Lincoln “Grabber” being made with the BL-Grabber with the sliding system. The next is the L3 (Lincoln G3) with the above BL-G3. I will say, I am tempted by the vintage high variant, I emailed Mr. Novak and he says they are a slightly overwound version…

After much delay, the bass finally arrived today! It needs some new strings and a setup, but it is indeed a modded Ripper. It is definitely well used, but not abused, with some nice checking on the body. Updates to come after I get it cleaned up! Any suggestions for Ripper strings?
