I've never tried any strings that I really detested, but I just don't get DR Neon Strings. Strictly on an aesthetic level, though... they probably sound & play great! But, gross. Just gross.
Yes they do play and sound great for me. And they fulfill the aesthetic I seek. Check 'em out on my 'Ray.
Strings I hate? Too much energy wasted to hate a string, or anything else for that matter. Can't say I was much impressed playing tapes and wouldn't buy them, and I'm really not into flats, myself. Hate them? Naw.
I love the sound of flats when other people play them, but they're simply not for me.
While I'd refrain from using the word "hate" when it comes to something fairly unimportant such as strings, I have yet to try any D'Addario or Fender bass strings that I like.
I have a question for all you flats users and I'm being serious. What kind of music do you play most where you can really get away with using just flatwounds?
