Orange AD200B

What do you think of this amp?

I played one in the store and it made me cry a little. It was amazing. Sounded better than anything I have ever played. That being said, I didn't get to turn it up to show level. Does the sound quality change? I play a lot of crazy stuff...Thank Victor or Alex Moran, as well as stand up. At the volume I had it at in the store, ever thing sounded great while doing the slaps, pops, etc.. I have read a lot of people use this amp for metal, punk rock, ect. I don't play this style at all and care nothing for it distorting at high volumes.

What do ya think?

Is there a better amp? All i'm wanting is the pure smooth bass sound. Tube seems to be the way to go. I didn't care for the SVT classic, it seemed really muddy for what im wanting it for. I want the absolute best regardless of price, but the orange is the best ive played through so far.

theres a couple of guys testing out the reeves 225 round here and i would think one of those would do it for you......

+1 I own both, and while I really like both the Orange and the Reeves, if you want lots of headroom with clean, beautiful, singing tone, the Reeves is the way to go. Or the Sadowsky SA200, if you can find one.

But the AD200 is a very good head. It is designed, however, to get more gritty as you turn it up. It does that very well, but it sounds like that's not what the OP wants.

The Reeves is just stupid good. I reviewed the Custom 225 in issue #2, btw.

Tom.
