Oregon Bassist's Club!

What's his name? This is a small town, so more than likely I might know him. DZ
Well, he hasn't been there in years, but that's where he's from. His name is Rod Sundholm. He's an awesome Pastor.

I'm also interested in places that have open mics/jams that ARE NOT bars.

Seems like the majority of places offering open mics/jams are bars. :hmm:

I do know of one place though, "Insomnia" coffee in Hillsboro.

His name doesn't ring a bell. What church are you at? I'm a worship leader here at our Foursquare church. I'm with you on the NO BARS thing too. Way....been there done that.

Church is called New Creation Church. It's over by the Hillsboro airport. Used to be called Word of Faith Christian Center and used to be located off of TV Highway and Cornelius Pass.

OK, so I tried contacting Casey Tinsley on his blog web site CaseyTinsley.com and through a TB PM and did not get a reply. According to his blog he did spend some time in the ER several days ago and seems to have been told by doctors to simplify his life and de-stress! So my guess is he probably won't care if someone else takes the reins here and gets caught up passing out numbers and organizing stuff.

I'd be happy to offer some time to help but would need to wait until later this week. I am having rotator surgery Thursday and have a load of work to do in preparation for that. After, I'll have several days at home recuperating, so I could put in my time in then getting caught up on membership numbers.

Thereafter, I am in wedding planning mode. So even though I could still be involved to help out, it might be best if someone volunteer to also do the duty.

Really, if this about us as a group, I would like to see a few of us pitch in to lighten the load, rather leaving it up to one or two. Just my 2¢.

Personally, I'd also like to see us look to putting together a GTG in a neutral place sometime this summer. My preference is August, simply due to time availability before, during and after my wedding, but that's me. Maybe the rest of you would like a different time.

OK, I have ranted. Response?

Alright, to make this easy I propose:

Make a spreadsheet on google docs, post a link to it in the first post of the new thread (or here if we want to just continue this thread) and use that for tracking member numbers.

That way the person who made the spreadsheet can update the numbers but also give permission to others to do the same, which could help lighten the load.

Razor,

Sounds good to me and I haven't seen anyone else raise up. I guess the biggest hurdle to jump is whether we want to stay in this thread or not.

I'm out for several days, but hope to alive and back this time next week. I'll too drugged up after surgery to see straight!

If another thread is started, we need to let everyone who has posted know, just as a courtesy.

Here is the current member numbers I marked everyone as DOA (Dead on Arrival) and went through the posts after the 2 year hiatus and marked original members as ACT (Active) as I ran across their names. Obviously poor Casey couldn't count or forgot about him self cause there are 2 #1s.

I would be happy to take over the handing out numbers if no one else wants the job. Dunno that we need to start over however we might consider it because of the numbering screw up and the fact that there are only 4 original members still active.

DOA CaseyTinsley - 1
DOA Hughes - 1
DOA BartmanPDX - 2
DOA rfclef - 3
ACT Knobby - 4
DOA Delta_Petra - 5
DOA Fish_Slapper - 6
ACT rllefebv - 7
DOA ryco - 8
DOA spaz21387 - 9
DOA MEKer - 10
DOA ScreamingSGs - 11
ACT scottice - 12
DOA Mojo-Man - 13
DOA RAZubieta - 14
DOA cheshirepig - 15
ACT Bassin` - 16
DOA DanScott - 17
DOA flydog21 - 18
DOA bassman_rob - 19
DOA kazuhank - 20
DOA Tin_Man - 21
DOA beta_442 - 22
DOA aspdevboy - 23
DOA Gordon_of_Eden - 24

Yeah, making a new thread and starting from scratch might be a good idea.

Besides, that way I could get a lower number :D

I don't get by here as much as I used too, what with now I actually have gigs n stuff now... lol... But I AM subscribed to this thread, but had not got any notifications for months... thought it had died, but I see it has not... ( I am not dead either... lol). I will try to keep an eye on it since I do not seem to be getting my notices all the time.

BTW: in September, if anyone is in the Molalla or newber area:
Sept 16, 7:00 at Newberg Christian Church we (Cry of Stones) will be opening for one of my favorite bands: Apologetix

Sept 10, 2:00 at Grace Church in Molalla... "rock for THE Rock - II". Out on the lawn (in the gym if bad weather), Christian Rock concert with Roman Sattelites, PureFusion, Cry of Stones, and Sawtell. This one is free!

And we just finished laying down the tracks last weekend for our first CD...

Well, glad to see you're alive!

I don't tend to visit churches other than my own. I'm already there 3 times a week. But that sounds like it'll be fun.

Me and my brother want to form a Christian hard rock band.

Yeah... I try not to miss my own services to go to another, but I will play anywhere (almost) anytime... These are Friday and Saturday, though... so fair game:D.

ANd if you have not seen Apologetix, they are a kick!
