Origin Cali76CB v2

I was a bit confused when I browsed the Thomann website a couple of days ago and found that all the Cali76 variants had disappeared completely from their website.

This morning, a new product appeared:

Not entirely sure, but it looks a little shorter, more like the DCX enclosure.
Also, obviously Origin changed the metering.

The knob layout and functions seem to remain identical.

I like that it appears normal sized. The excess height of the comp never bothered me because I don’t switch my comp on/off and the simple color change meter never bothered me because I use my ears to complement what I see.
But I’m hoping this means they might make a Revival Drive in a normal form factor so it won’t conflict on tight pedal boards. With some normal pedals it’s hard to switch them next to the Revival Drive.
Origin, Do It Now.

that is enticing indeed!!!!

Interesting. For you guys who are current Cali76 CB v1 owners/users and are saying you would replace the current model with the new ver .... is it just the metering that is appealing ? Everything else seems the same (at least externally). I run mine at 18v off the Noble power section and have it dialed in pretty much where I want it, and I basically don't really ever change it. Not sure that the added metering means much to me. How about the rest of you ?

i'd prefer to have the metering. i'm also hoping that they might have made it closer sounding to the large box version that i used to have (and miss a lot).

you're referring to the old TX version with the transformer (Jensen, Lindahl ??). I have read reviews saying that they sounded different, and the TX's certainly have more granular Attack/Release controls. I've never heard one myself so I have no "ears-on" on that subject.
