Interesting and good info.
The price difference between the two units is 2.5 x as much. Worth considering. And so far, the only reason I haven't jumped in with both feet. I don't have my SV-Pre or my ME Super 300 anymore so there's a hole that needs filling.
Yeah, I think so. I definitely preferred the 100%, but I can see times that it would be advantageous for a little more clarity if desired. I am glad it's an option, and a usable one...
That's my plan...I'll have to report back in a few months!
I think that's partly what it's for. That's what I plan to do. I'm currently using a Neve RNDI but an alternative with tweak-able character would be nice. It would be a bonus if it's bypassed sound was as good as the RNDI.
That's how I'm using it. Sounds nice and full through my monitor. I like this much better than the digital model svt in the helix stuff.

at home for practice it's earphones. Last weekend it was a wedge. Jbl I think. I've used other pres through wedges before that didn't sound as good. I used a tonehammer for years and it never quite gave me the oomph the bassrig does. I suspect part of that is the better low end response on this monitor. I will say that I wasn't missing my amp which is rare for those kind of situations.

here's a quick clip comparing the Sansamp VT bass to the Origin Bassrig Super Vintage (100% wet) with a moderate amount of gain.
to me, the VT is more compressed and feels more like a pedal (although i think that it sounds great), whereas the origin feels more like i'm playing thru an actual SVT. YMMV.

I used it last weekend at practice, and sounded great through the PA. I have gigs with bands that use in-ears, with no stage volume, and this is perfect for that application. For other gigs I'll still use an amp for stage volume.
The difference is uuuuuuge! Not that I am a SVT aficionado, but the Origin Effects Super Vintage indeed sounds like an amp to me; could be because I am intimately familiar with the Sans Amp sound (I have been using the GED 2112 since it came out basically).

Curious on the differences you noticed between the S300 and SV.
Definitely will. No gigs for over two years, but jamming regularly now and had a great response last night from the other guys I'm writing with. I had the Super Vintage set like the Stadium Stack example (with the treble at 11o'clock) going DI to the mixer (flat eq) out two 8" Yamaha monitors. I cant remember how many times their jaws dropped.
In addition, I doubt I'll be using and OD in front of it since tweaking the Drive kept everyone happy. I usually use the Barbershop these days.

i think the ME S300 was really good but the Origin has a lot more of an amp feel and tone than any other SVT pedal that i've ever played thru.
There's a thoroughness and meticulous attention to tone and build quality Simon Keats puts into every pedal that he designs and offers that makes them stand above the others for me.
I had the DG VU for a while. If you like it don't sell it before trying the Origin pedal, because it's definitely different (Im saying that as a complete bass nerd).
I received my super vintage yesterday, but haven't had any time to dig into it until tonight. I'd love to see the setting you're digging with the SV. Thanks, Matt
My level is down so not to clip or drive the mic pre, and the treble pot is cut slightly since I mostly use a pick. The illustrated example is perfect for fingering.
This has been the exact best starting point I've found so far. The only changes is that my drive is at noon, I'm using a pick, and I flip back and forth between 3K and 800 for different flavors of monster.
