Thanks for posting those! My ears say the Super Vintage has a heft and crispness to the OD that is missing from the others. That said, I think the BASSRIGs are going to stay on the GAS list. My TH pedal gets close enough for gigs.

I'm generally more of a Fender style tone guy, but I have a VT Deluxe for when I really need either a B15 or SVT-ish type sound. While the VT pedal is quite a bit older, it has a lot of tone shaping options as well, including a speaker sim (switchable on the VT DI and VT versions).

As I posted earlier I received my Origin 64 today.I went with it because it seems every other preamp is based on the SVT,and I own the Master Effects Super 300.SVT in a box she is.Also I've a Shiftline Flex ever so slowly making it's way to me from Russia.Covering the B-15 sound.You mention prefering cleaner tones? The 64 does clean with mega warmth and roundness.If some grit is desired, you can get what's needed no doubt. Admittedly I'm a bonafide preamp freak and I can tell already the 64 and I are in the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Got the Nolan Ryan #34 today. Kids will keep me from putting it through the paces for a day or two, but I expect a shootout between this and the SV-Pre to see who stays. :hyper:

cool. can you do a compare on them ?
To be very clear, I'm not knocking the new Origin pedals in any way, just curious how they might stack up against the other Fender/Ampeg emulator pedals.

I'm waiting on the Flex's arrival still.What pre's are you asking for as a comparison? I'll do my best to answer your request with what ever I own.I have so many I'm almost ashamed to list them.@moon-bass knows what I mean.When I was a young man gigging heavily things like mortgages kids braces etc. and blue collar wages meant there was little left for bass stuff.Bass Player Magazine was porn to me.I could only dream of owning such gear.Lucky I invested in my retirement and for the first time I found some disposable income.New cars,boats and gambling don't do it for me.Hence the abundance of gear.Trouble is as a geezer coupled with lockdown gigs have dried up less than my sperm count.All dressed up with nowhere to go.

Yeah, I think it's more of a matter of whether you want something that "sounds just like an SVT/etc" or if you just want to dial a good tone.

There's no clear winner.They are as different as the amps the emulate are imo.I bought the 64' because I wanted the Fender tone.The Vintage Blue cops the SVT sound as well or better than any preamp pedal I've heard and was totally impressed hearing demos.It purely a matter of the amp flavor one craves.

How does it compare to the master effects super 300? That has been my favorite SVT pedal minus the touchy gain knob.

well, I have the Tech 21 VT Deluxe pedal for Ampeg type stuff, and always thought that it did a pretty decent job of that, so I would be interested in a compare with that box if possible, but in general I'd be interested in hearing how these new Origin boxes compared to other well known "Ampeg sounding" pedals from Broughton, Arkham, Caitlinbread, Barber Linden etc.

i'm using mine for combining with my amp for gigs and for recording.
