Yeah, was hoping I'd like the Super Vintage more as I'm more an SVT guy, but the 64 sounded better to my ears.... I can't afford both, I can't....

After watching all these videos today, I've convinced myself I don't need either of these. They sound amazing, but a bit too pricey for where I'm at right now.

I've got the Super Vintage arriving tomorrow. Not sure if I'll keep it yet, but if it's noticeably better than the SVT model on the Quad Cortex it's very likely that it will stick around.

I'm a very happy user of a Cali76CB, it's a permanent fixture on my grab and go pedal board (along with a Noble DI). So, I'm good with the quality of Origin Effects stuff. But based on the demo's, both of these pedals seem to be very much about distortion/OD ... although I'm sure they can do clean too. I am generally a clean tone player, with a very occasional need/desire for just a bit of fattening OD, but rarely/hardly ever any full on grind/distortion. Do all of you who are so psyched about these boxes use serious OD/Distortion on a regular basis ?

Another question I have is how the Super Vintage would compare to the Tech21 VT line of pedals. I'm generally more of a Fender style tone guy, but I have a VT Deluxe for when I really need either a B15 or SVT-ish type sound. While the VT pedal is quite a bit older, it has a lot of tone shaping options as well, including a speaker sim (switchable on the VT DI and VT versions).

Yes. My clean is grind, and my grind is OD. I like a little grit to cut through, once it cuts in a band mix with OD+ guitars it actually sounds "clean".

These things sound great (ian is great), but here's my question: I already have a wd800, so what would be the application of this? Do you just stomp it for an extra sound, or do you leave it on all the time? It seems redundant to run this preamp into the mesa preamp. Yeah I get it small and light and you could use it as a direct box, but those Mesa amps are small and light too. Mostly I'm just looking for an excuse to buy it!

i play thru a showman and a supertwin (that sounds like my showman only has twice the power) and sold my SVT's so i went with the SVT for now, but i'm sure that i'll get the '64 black too. i'm a huge fan of origin effects.

1) Ian is the man. His Instagram videos are always so enthusiastic and educational.
2) Do you ever wish your Mesa would sound more like an Ampeg or Fender amp? If so, then that's the idea here.

The announcement email this morning mentioned that the CB76 will soon be available in two new color schemes that match the BassRigs. Our more affluent members here can get both the BassRigs with the matching Compact Basses, just for fun!

NGL, if I could afford to, I'd buy both of these BassRigs, the Cali76 Compact Deluxe and Compact Bass, the RevivalDrive Compact, the Magma57, and the Deluxe61. Origin Effects really has got some incredible products.

will Origin design combo pedals combining the BassRigs with the Compact Bass?

I can't see why they would. Combo products suffer from a diminished flexibility in routing.
