Original Greenboy/fEarful megathread?

I built a fEarful 12/6 for my daughter 10 years ago after following its genesis and evolution on a Greenboy/fEarful megathread that went on for hundreds, if not thousands, of posts. Has it disappeared? I’ve found a couple of links to it, but they come back as expired/invalid. I’m not talking about the official club for owners — that was started much later.

At that time threads got divided up every 1000 posts, so you are looking for at least a dozen+ different threads over quite a few years, now with many many redacted links. And then you may want to exercise the Wayback Machine archive for content from the now defunct greenboy forum where Dave Green moved all the serious technical info and discussion when he left Talkbass and went commercial.

They are still all there. See my previous post.

I know, and they're much easier to find via an external search. But so many links within the individual posts have been redacted that their usefulness has been greatly compromised, which is what I was getting at.

Thanks everyone! I found the trail of breadcrumbs. I knew the Greenboy forum outside of Talkbass had been taken down — I saw that coming as people started making demands on Dave as if he were the warranty department for Gallien-Krueger.

My daughter’s 12/6 is still roaring strong and looks none the worse for wear after a decade. It’s been hauled all over the United States with my daughter’s Detroit-based power-pop trio Shadow Show and has shared the stage with acts ranging from War to Bikini Kill.

Ah...the good ol' days.

Built this 15/6 way back when designs we're still being discussed and modified. I use to design my own back then too (when I was the TB user formerly known as Sundogue)...

This was one of the very first 12/6 builds, also from 2010:

There's wasn't even an official crossover design at the point so I rolled my own. Dave changed the dimensions slightly after feedback from myself and another builder or too, IIRC. I used left over 3/4" Europly from another project and it weighed a ton, but sounded great.

I have a matching pair of 12/6s that I played for years. One was built by an authorized dealer and I built the second one with a flat pack. They sound great and pack a serious punch. I rarely played both except at outdoor festivals, which I was playing more often back then. I was playing a lot of reggae and these cabs together were pants-flapping wonderful! I spent way too much time reading all the threads on fEARful back in the day and enjoyed the sense of community among builders and users.

While they are not really heavy (about 45 lbs, I think), my 64-year-old back was not enjoying the haul anymore, so I moved to smaller and lighter cabs. I think I'm going to sell these, but I'm not sure if there is much of a market anymore.

I remember reading through all of that for about 2 years before I took the plunge and ordered 2 Fearless 115s. It was the right decision. I gigged those for 6 years before I very reluctantly had to sell them because of a sudden personal financial situation. I've regretted it ever since and have yet to play through their equal. I never even needed the second cab. One of those filled many stages with many different loud projects I was involved with.

too bad so many of the contributors and upstarts laid victim to the effect COVID had on the economy
I am shocked how different the post pandemic world has become. So many of the places and things I loved are no more.....and it is even becoming harder to remember the days before....like the Fearful mega threads

I would gladly take one of them off of your hands!
