other basses chris squire has used

of course i know chris pretty much always uses a rick. i have heard that he has used a few other basses before,but upon searching for his equipment listings,i couldn't find a thing.
i've seen him using a fender P,and also i heard that he used to use thunderbirds sometimes.does anyone know of any other basses he has used?

I know for a fact he used an octave eight string from time to time... I have the 1979 Live in Philadelphia DVD, and he uses one on Roundabout. Plus if you listen to the title track from their "Going For The One" album, you can hear gnarly octave eight all over the place. Don't know the maker, though.

Oooh, yeah.... the three neck. Don't know much about that bass, except that my jaw dropped when I saw him break it out for that song on the "Keys to Ascension" DVD.

I've seen hin pull out the PBass recently. In the 90's he used a Tobias tuned BEAD on a song or 2. In his star licks video I think he demoed his 8 string, the electra , the tobias and the Ric.

The Mouradian is what he play on 'Owner of a Lonely Heart' I believe and the Electra was on 'Tempus Fugit'.

Way back in the day he did use T-Birds and Fenders....

The triple-neck Wal has a fretted 4, a fretless 4, and a 6 (3 doubled strings). Actually, the one he's played in recent years (since around after 1991) is a Japanese copy, as the original Wal has been on display at one of the Hard Rock Cafes. You can spot the copy by it's leather pickguard being form fitted around the pickups, and the original Wal's isn't (on middle set of pickups).

The P bass he's recently used in concert is a Lakland.

When I Yes a few times in the 70's he used the old 4001S, a Fender Jazz bass (for Relayer's To Be Over) and the octave 8-string Rick 4001 for Roundabout during the encore.
This was still the prog period (Tales, Relayer, Going For The One, Tormato). For amps he had a Marshall Superbass 100 head (distorted), a Sunn Coliseum Lead head (cleaner) and two unusual (and large) front-loaded 6x12 Sunn cabs.

He played a Tele bass with a jazz p/u in the bridge position on "Lucky Seven" from Fish Out Of Water. One of his most amazing bass lines IMHO. Great tone on that one too....

Apparently that bass was stolen not too long after the recording.

I just spoke with Jim Mouridian earlier this week at his shop in Winchester, north of Boston. He tweaked the truss and bridge on my Warwick for 15 minutes, and had a great conversation about Yes, and didn't charge me a thing at all for the visit. How’s that for you?

Extremely nice guy, and yes, he crafted a bass for Chris Squire that he claims Chris says is his favorite after the Ric.
