That 70 1/2 split bumper is sweet. I had a '73 that I put a split bumper on and a '65 327 camel hump motor in it when the 307 died. The car handled pretty darn well for American steel too.
I've had a handful of camel hump headed engines and they all ran well. The 350 in my 79 Z/28 has a set of 186 casting camel humps with the 2.02" intake valves.
With that being said, that engine is old and the heads are far outdated by today's standards. I's cool for us old guys to see those heads, but the reality is a modern set of Vortec heads will outflow the fuelie heads right out of the box.
