Over-population.

well, i like your music and that's all that matters...
To be very un PC much of the worlds population should be chemically castratred. Seriously, if you and your children are starving and or most of the population is full of plauge yet you are still popping out more mouths than you can feed there is something wrong.
It should be global law anywhere on the planet: If you can't or are not willing to provide for your children then you are not allowed to have them. If you will produce children with incurable diseases then you are not allowed to have them.
Humans own intelligence and bleeding hearts is causing reverse evolution in the species. The unitelligent, weak and sick are popping out children faster than other segments of the population, creating more unitelligent, weak and sick humans.
In nature only the strongest and brightest animals live to mate thus alwasy improving the species. Humans are causing their own de-evolution by constantly coddleing the weakest of our species.

I think my generation has been diluged with information telling us not to breed. Have sex, but don't breed. For god sakes don't have kids or you won't have a future.

Who said anything about genocide? I didn't say anything about killing people already alive. Simply don't let people who are unable to support their children or produce healthy children breed.
When all those people get what we take for granted in the US, more will understand that we have too many people.

I disagree with Jive's assessment. I am not going to write an essay. I recommend This book. And this one. For a more detailed assessment of the situation.
Personally I think overpopulation is a natural biological consequence of species success, and as much as we like to think we are "above" nature because we have big brains, we can do nothing about overpopulation. It will happen, there will be overshoot and collapse, just as there is in every biological situation.

While jive has a good point, the data is rather out dated. There is about a billion more people on the planet now. Overpopulation isn't the problem, over consumption of resources is.

Technologically advanced countries tend to have lower birth rates. Most at or below the level of population growth. The countries where the population growth is highest tend to be the ones where resources are scarce due to famine, war, oppressive leaders or all of the above.

this problem is either tackled politically, or nature will take care of it. the second option is the worse choice as it will happen through famine, diseases, and a generally hostile environment for humans to live in as we leave a trail of destruction everywhere we go.

No they are not related at all, Genocide means to wipe out an entire race or sect of people regardless of thier health or status within that sect.
I am not advocating that. I am advocating controlling breeding of all humans on the planet, not letting people who will produce diseased children breed and not letting people who are unable to provide for their offspring breed.
As in nature this would ensure that the human race in general would have better genetic stock. The weak, diseased, unitelligent and unable to cope would simply be bred out of exsistance.
People often argue that people need better education and chances in life, when in reality what society needs is tighter controls on breeding. You can't educate someone beyond their genetic potential or force them to act much different than there base nature.
This is exactly what Hitler was saying with his "Master Race" plan. Read a Handmaid's Tale too.
Mmmmmm. No, I'm not saying the same thing at all. I'm not saying any one race is superior or better and should wipe out the others. I'm saying that only the best, brightest and healthiest of any race should be allowed to breed.
Otherwise, as evidenced by every race on the planet, the lease intelligent and weakest do the most breeding and de evolve the species.
And I'm no historian, but I believe his genocide was committed largely because he needed a scapegoat for non Jewish Germans to blame for all their problems and help get behind his war.

So who is gonna decide who is "healthy" enough to breed? Who will decide if a child is healthy?
There's a quite a few people on TB who have handicapped children, family members, or have disabilities as well. Are they or their parents unfit to breed? Should the new laws exempt them from ever having a family? Should all parents be subjected to genetic testing prior to breeding? And what if they have a disabled child that doesn't show up in a genetic screen? Should they then be ineleigible to ever have children again, even if it were random chance? And once again, who determines all that? Is a kid with ADD unhealthy? Is a kid with a birth defect like a cleft palette unhealthy? Or what if a someone becomes disabled later in life?
I hope that people who think this way about the disabled never have to have their thoughts put to the test. There is no guarantee that you will retain your health for your lifetime or that your family will be healthy. And should you ever fall prey to fate in that way, your mindset will be completely useless.
Honestly, sometimes it would be easier to be blissfully ignorant like this than it is to have a severely disabled family member.
