P-Bass Club (Part 2) Precision Decisions

Status
Not open for further replies.
I just bought a 62 Ri MIJ off another message board. It should be here some time this week! I will post pics when it's in.

I bought my first bass in 1995 and it was a samick pbass clone. I am excited to have on again!

Any recomendations on setting it up? I notice a lot of pbasses get the buzz on the low e because the PU is a bit high, So I will adjust that. Any thing else? I'll be playing everything from rock to soul.

ok bedankt, mede vlaming :p
nog een vraagje :p hoe zet je een avatar op je talkbass?

bij de weg: als je afbeeldingen wilt laten zien moet je tags gebruiken...

laten we uw bass nog eens zien:

als je deze post quoted zie je hoe het ineen zit.

Beautiful bass... is that yours?
You have a lefty version of this I assume. (???)

You know what they say around here, no pics no bass. ;)

Als ge een camera hebt of ene kunt lenen maak dan wat fotos van je eigen materiaal.

[/flemish] [english]

People here like to look at pictures rather than read. :)
If you have taken several pictures of your gear (bass, amp, all togheter,...) load them up to a site like www.photobucket.com

this is my account: http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll59/CthulhuTB/

Always handy to have pictures ready. :)

Now to get back on track with precision basses again, here is my TF again in his coffin.

Hi, folks

Bass rookie here (since Nov 2007). This is my '94 P-Bass, made in Mexico with a DiMarzio split-rail and chrome knobs I installed myself.

Just recently got it re-strung and its neck adjusted. What a difference!
P-Bass09-1.jpg

(Btw, the 2 pedals on the floor are a limiter/enhancer and a chorus.)

P.S. Can I get a number?

I'm still around. I don't have access to this at work. I also like to do a little practicing so I can justify buying my toys...lol.

Anyhoo. Number update!

731 dlegault
732 count von count
733 EriktheRed

I'll post pics of my growing P family tomorrow...maybe tonight after I shim the neck on my EKO. I've also been busy with my neato trade for a Fender Coronado...got it dialed in for thumpyness.

someone likes yamaha a whole lot, sheehan fan?

No not really. :)
My first fretless bass was one of those black Yamaha RBX260Fs. I think the left one in the group picture.
That bass is sort a say criple now. :) Neck warped and a lot of "battle" scars. :D To the right of it is an exact same bass in mint condition that I bought about a year ago.
I can't get rid of these basses because of sentimental value. :)

I also got an Yamaha RBX170 and an Yamaha John Myung signature RBX6JM 6-string.
I bought that 6-string because I got a great deal on it, and to try out a 6-string. ... I like 4-string precision basses better. :)
I'm also not a John Myung fan. ;)

and the bit about the fanned frets in your sig is from a thread i started [=

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. Time to lose that quote in my sig. :)
It was giving a new guy a hard time here on TB. Sorry about that.
It was the way you asked about fanned frets that brought on all those snippy comments.

No hard feelings. ;) We're both not here to make enemies.

Phwoar, absolutely stunning!

Thanks. :)
Although I take crappy pictures so it seems.
I'll better read that thread about bass photography. :)

Nice basses.

Is that Sonic Blue on you MIM?
I tried out a Squier CV in Sonic Blue recently.
I didn't liked the color in daylight. :hiding:
But it looks allright in your pictures. Or is that something else than Sonic Blue.
Maybe it was the bridge cover on the Squier CV that threw me off. :)

You don't seem to understand Talkbass yet,....... the whole idea is to hate everyone who thinks different from you in any way!:D

My guess would be Ice Blue Metallic, Sonic Blue is a pastel, IIRC.

And its a hot bass at that!:)

EDIT: By the way, your avatar is awesome! :D

Yup, that's true.
Because of that, you are my only friend here on TalkBass. :crying:

Actually that is bad news for you. ;)

Yup, cause I like his blue bass.

It must be that creamy pastel blue on the Squier 60s CV that I don't like.
Regardless of color, that Squier was an awesome bass when it came to sound.

EDIT: By the way, your avatar is awesome! :D

TALLY HO! You mad Irish royster doyster you! :D
