Just added to my P-baby's.

Got a mint 2006 51 reissue P-bass.
Butterscotch finish, black pickguard.

I've never been into these basses before.
Digging there fat, bright tone.
Nice neck.

Just put a set of GHS flats on it.
Sounds great.

My other P-basses.
1966- white -tort.-rosewood.
1970-fretless LPB- tort.-rosewood.
2007-USA Glaub-CAR- anodized gold-rosewood.

Custom made by Chris Stambaugh to my specs...not a parts bass. One-piece mahogany body, birds eye maple board & overlay, angled headstock, graphite rods in neck, Nordstrand pickups, Hipshot hardware, oil/wax finish, 8.7 lbs. Yeah, baby! :smug:

I've got 2 P-Basses but no camera. They are:

A Candy Apple Red Franken P with a mint green pickguard, an "Original '62" pickup, a rosewood fretboard, a tug bar and bridge and pickup covers (it looks like a '62 reissue).

A MIM Classic 50's, black with a gold anodized pickguard and a maple fingerboard.

The red one is probably my favorite of all my basses and it is, far and away, my least expensive one...it seldom sees the inside of a case since I play it daily. It feels great and sounds better. I have medium low action, (ancient) Fender 9050 flats and I have not had to adjust the truss rod, bridge or intonation since I installed the ($20 on e-Bay) neck with the rosewood board about 4 years ago. You never know when you'll stumble across that "magical" instrument!

The '59 was that color when I bought it in 1973. I don't know if you can tell from the picture but there are quite a few scars and dings on it. It's been around the block two or three times.

I don't think it was treated all that will by its former owners and was given a quick and dirty home paint job, including trying to match the headstock to the pickguard.

Still it plays and sounds great.

Cool, thanks for the info. I kind of like the fact that it's beaten up and was refinished roughly, yet has great tone and playability. That's what counts! Plus, I bet the risk of theft is a lot lower.:D

Here is my new MIM Classic 50s Precision (and CIJ '75RI Jazz). Picked it up from The Bass Place for $495 brand new in the box. It has TI Jazz Flats on it and is now the best playing bass I have ever had. I LOVE it!!!!!!:hyper:

Here's mine.. got it in the classifieds here last year. Not sure whether the body is MIA or CIJ, but it's got a '62 RI Jazz neck with the finish sanded off the back, and a Reverend pickup. I just changed out the Badass II bridge for a standard Fender bridge so I could add a bridge cover. And, I bought a thumbrest off eBay this morning to complete the vintage look. This bass plays and sounds great!
