I really dig the yellowing of the headstock decal, very nice touch.
beautiful bass.

btw, something that always bothered me - how is the thumbrest kept in it's angle with only one screw?
is it countersunk into the body?

Actually, the "yellowing" on the decal only really comes across in photography - in reality, it's not so noticable :hmm:.

The thumbrest isn't countersunk in any way, just screwed down tightly. If you look at a lot of real vintage basses, you'll often see a circular scratch around it, where the screw has loosened and the whole thing has spun round like a catherine wheel :p.

One advantage of this design, over the two screw version, is that you can set it to any angle that you like and you'll often see them positioned differently on different individuals basses. Was that a deliberate design, or just a cheap way to save on a screw (;))? We'll never know!

I've filed my membership application.

I've had sooo many P's (Lakland, Fender USA/MIM/Squier/Japan, w/ Darkstars, DimArzio's, Fralins...) but here's a pic of my favorite-est bass so far... it's an '83 USA neck on a 2000 Highway 1. I stripped the paint off it (it was that tan/sand color). The neck came to me w/ those wear marks. Someone before me was an insane mofo w/ this bass. Seymour Duncan Antiquity II pups. TI Flats.

2006 MIM P bass, Olympic White

Picked it up yesterday from the post office, and I love it already :hyper:
I got turned off P-basses for a while after starting on a crappy Squier affinity P-bass but after listening to heaps of recordings with that awesome tone I saw this one I had to have it even if it meant importing it :p and It rocks.

Ooh..I want to join!

Here's my '97 MIA American Deluxe in rare Shoreline Gold. Fender didn't make too many of these in this finish. Maybe I'm crazy, but I love the Fender tort pickguard on this finish.

I didn't like the factory Fender/Fishman active preamp, so I took it out. It's been replaced by a CTS-pot Jazz setup: V/V/T. I also added a mini DPDT to switch the bridge humbucker from single coil to dual coil.
