So, today I got to play my very NEW TO ME, 2006 Fender American Precision Deluxe V. Cherry sunburst with a Maple board. Just a spectaculiar looking bass. Sounds like Poopies though. Tinny. It just did not seem like I could dial out the high end and bring out the bottom end without big complications on the bottom end.
Now, granted, I was not playing my rig, but a 350w Combo.
I don't know anything about the bass, since I got it fixed, picked it up on Sunday and I will have it with me on stage tonight. Any words of wisdom?

Have fun and play well. I find you get more bottom by soloing the neck pu.

Is this a common problem with the Deluxes? Do the pickups tend to be "high endy?"

I got a MIM 50's Precision Bass a few weeks ago and I wanted to change the gold pick guard to something else, it ended up coming to me with the gold one damaged anyway, so here it is with a single ply gloss black .090" Warmoth pick guard. I'd like a number if they are being passed out, please!
