Quick question: to anyone who's played the P-lyte and an actual MIA Standard or Deluxe P, how do the sounds compare? If I have a P-Lyte (P/J) should I even bother getting a P?

I have a P-Lyte Deluxe (P/double-J). It has some P-esque qualities, but I don't consider it "really" a P. The smaller mahogany body, J-width neck, and active EQ give it a different sound and feel. I consier a "proper" passive P a totally different animal. This isn't to say that the P-Lyte isn't a nice instrument, it's just different.
