Im super excited. Just had some extra cash and bought a BA II Bridge + New strings and installed the fender tug-bar on my p-bass.
Im very happy with my purchases. I think next up is a new pickup.

Early 80s P Special in Candy Apple Red with matching headstock. Thinking of trading it tho as it's a backbreaker at over 10 pounds. Original pickguard and preamp not currently installed.

My '62 MIA re-issue, the "Funk Machine" !
Still not sure should I put the ashtray and the bell on it?! Tough question, I like it's "naked" look a lot too.

Not tough to me. It has no holes drilled for the covers. People may not think of these basses as collector's items now, but they will one day, and it will be de-valued if you add holes to it. So I wouldn't even entertain the idea of drilling holes for the covers you're going to pull off in a couple weeks time anyway.My '62 MIA re-issue, the "Funk Machine" !

well, the original '62s came with holes drilled as far as I know.
but I do agree he'll take them down after a while...my guess is more like 2 days, these things are only good if you play thumb style a' la' Jamerson.
besides, I couldnt drill such a beautiful finish. and you dont know the exact position for the bridge cover anyway.
I like to think of this bass as my 'Jamerson Funk Machine'. It has LaBella 'Jamerson' flats, high action, so the chromes would finalize the looks....
... but I guess you guys are right, I just can't drill on this beauty. Would feel wrong. And the placement of the "ashtray" is tricky indeed. No idea where the holes should exactly go.
