P Basses With Jazz Necks?

Yamaha bb434 (1.57" nut)
Squier precision standard special (OOP)
MIM precision special passive (OOP)

I prefer that setup too. I've found there's quite a few of us out there, might not be as hard to resell as you may think. Or you could just sell it as parts.

There's a nate mendel P bass with an aerodyne neck in the TB classified right now ;)

My friend...notice the head stock on my pbass. Absolutely one of my favorite basses I've ever had.

Current offerings are an MIM Deluxe P. Bass. It’s got a J neck but it also has a P/J config and it’s active. I used one for a couple of shows one weekend and it sounded good enough but i just can’t get next to the body after so many years of playing J basses.

FWIW, and with all due respect, if I was concerned with re-sale and depreciation (which I am), I would not be buying a new bass anywhere near $2000 (which I don't) … buying used at already depreciated market value (let someone else take the initial hit) is in many cases like money in the bank when it comes resale time .. also, Stratosphere (although I am not a fan) is not the same as Warmoth, as Stratosphere is a part-n-sell jobber, using authentic mfr. parts, not aftermarket … and they do very well $$ doing it … with that concept in mind, buy a used Precision body choice, buy a used Jazz neck of choice and you are there … then, when/if you sell, sell each component individually … you have your resale and depreciation concerns covered, as well as your purchase/search wishes met … ;)

If you ordered the body and neck from Warmoth and had them finish it the way you wanted, put your choice of pickup in it, bought good hardware and paid someone to assemble it for you, it would still be under two grand.

Or order one from Kiesel to your specs? 10, 12 and 14 radius available on necks.

The neck & fretboard woods may make a difference if you believe in that. The less wood on a J neck compared to a P may make an audible difference. Realistically though, a maple neck with a maple board will sound like a maple neck with a maple board, etc.
