Here in Croatia it is a very small market, same basses travel from one bass player to another. I guess if I sell it today, if would get back to me in less then 5 years ;-)

P/J P Bass with Jazz Neck

I got lucky I guess, and it was really cheap.

It was yours that made me pull the trigger on the Lakland and I am so glade I did. You got the last one from Sweetwater. I tried to order on the next day and they were all gone and they are not expecting anymore until April. So glade I found one. It is and amazing bass and the build quality is near perfect.
Sweetwater had to order mine and I had to wait several weeks for it. I guess that means lakland sent them 1. Where did you find yours? Also, do you get any noise when you add in the J pickup?
That Sea Foam Green P Deluxe is killer. Rumored that the necks are leftover Geddys.
Godin Shifter Classic. Nice P type body, fantastic J like neck. P/J configuration, with P, J, P/J serial and P/J parallel switching. Build quality, fit and finish as good or better than an MIA. Wonderful bass.
The early Schecter Robert DeLeo signature in the mary kaye finish had a jazz neck. They pop up cheap once in awhile and are a lot of bang for the buck.
Found mine of eBay from Wood's Music in SC. Great service and they sent it in a hard case. The P pickup was wired backwards and had to be fixed which was a little troublesome but the weight was perfect and so was the neck so I was not willing to send it back. My J pickup seems to be quie, the volume drops off a little to me. I also have to roll the J pickup off just a touch when running both pickup. If I don't the volume drops off when both are on full. I play the P pickup mostly so it does not bother me. I talk to Lakland about it and would have to send it in and I am willing to do that since it plays and sounds so good now.
Interesting - not sure why mine is different. I'm just using a measuring tape not anything especially precise, but the same tape gives two different measurements on the Aerodyne P vs. my Jazz.
As for availability, I picked mine up here in Canada at a Yamaha music store, which tended to carry a lot of Yamaha stuff that other stores never see. So yeah, might not be the most practical choice...

That's cool. I also notice a volume drop when soloing the J, but only a tiny volume drop with the P and J both at 100% I really like the tone of the J pickup and LOVE the blended tone but it is quite noisy which makes no sense to me as it should be humbucking when blended like a jazz bass right?
neck profile is too big for the OP, he wants a jazz width neck (38mm) the Blazers and Roadstars are much bigger, great basses though.

Yeah they are 40mm I thought maybe it wouldn't be as bad as 42mm like a P bass.
I believe they do, and this would be an excellent choice as well! My next Jazz will likely be one of these, unless I can find a '72 for under $2k!

How about a double P instead of a PJ? The MIM Fender Blacktop Jazz bass has a Jazz neck and body. Looks like the neck pickup is more forward than the traditional p pickup placement though.
