P/J P Bass with Jazz Neck

I also prefer the 12" radius for playability, and that combined with G&L's Plek fret levelling produces very low action. I'm not sure why G&L went to 9.5" for standard. At least the 12" is still available by special order.

The passive version is available through Guitar Center for $799. I like it even better with the pickguard swap.

It is kinda odd because the original neck that came on my P/J was a P neck. The neck that came on my buddys P/J was a J neck. And I know that that was a stock neck. So they do make some P/Js with J necks. Or you could simply try a Mighty Mite aftermarket neck. They are very nice, I have one on my P bass. But the tricky part may be trying to get the neck pocket and new neck to fit exactly. Which, IME at times, has been tricky with Squire stuff.

gregmon79 and guys, now fender is buying neck from China and I believe some bodies are being made there also. I went to Alibaba and found the company fender buy from. I traced their products to the UK and have seen them on ebay selling from Americans in the USA. I can now buy the most beautiful American maple Necks, with either Maple or Rose Wood Fret Board. Some are better quality than my American Standard necks. And all they cost me in Europe is the equivalent of $80 to $100 US (I pay in Euros) and thats with shipping. Necks from the US cost from $50 to $90US shipping and I have to pay 21% import tax.So if you want a thing of beauty on your wall. Buy a couple of Tiger stripped Maple necks from China! WE would never see this quality coming out of a western factory! Good Luck!
