Double Bass Pachebel Rant

This is great! I have had to play the canon at gigs before..... it gets old after the first measure, but the people listening always love it. It's one of those classical pieces that non-musicians can always recognize, like Morning Mood from Grieg's Peer Gynt, and the opening to Beethoven 5. Not to say that all of them actually know the titles, though.

"Oh my god, I LOVE that song!"

Then the general hateful look in their eyes show if you decide to explain the difference of a song and another genre of musical form. I can't believe how much I offended people when I told them that "Chocolate Rain" fad isn't really a song. And then I had to explain that that's not a put down. The fact that it was annoying and sucked IS a put down. :hiding:

Damn you. I actually looked up "Chocolate Rain" to see what you were talking about. I now consider it one of my worst musical experiences. How could that have been featured on TV anyway? Is the general public unable to distinguish the line between debatable crap and obscenely indisputable crap?

Yes. In this way, respectively: one is ok, the other is INSANELY popular! Remember, talentless crap aways wins over actual ability. Look at all the awesome musicians who won't ever be considered as great as some musicians who can't even play a major scale.

This is pretty hilarious, It was funny I followed a couple links to a virtuoso guitar player playing a rock version of the song(which by the way was kind of cool) and some little guitar punks were arguing about who composed the song, some one named jerry C or a guy named Guitar90 and I just groaned. Some ignorance is inevitable but two have two guys equally ignorant arguing about something like that, wow. but yeah this is a great video.
