Wired up my first P bass tonight, worked just like it was supposed to on first plug in!
Started with a whole new set of pots, pickups, cap and pickguard. Re-used the star washer ground wire and the bridge ground wire, new wire everywhere else.
Filed the fret ends nice and smooth at the same time too.
Thanks for all the discussion and diagrams--very helpful for a handy guy that likes to do some research before taking the soldering iron to task.
