Ha! Believe it or not I think my list would be the same as your first one (AIC > STP > SG > PJ). I love SG, but there has always been something about them that has hindered me from obsessing with them in the same manner I've obsessed over AIC and STP in the past. That said, I almost always have either Badmotorfinger or Superunknown in my car :)

The other thing I'll add is that SG, in my opinion, is the only band out of all the Grunge groups that got better over time (sans AIC). STP started falling off after Tiny Music, and Pearl Jam never interested me after Ten. Nirvana is a bit of a wild card, but I'm not sure they could have kept up over time had Kurt lived on.

Haha...peas in a pod, mate...peas in a pod :)

I somehow must have misread you leaning towards SG over AIC in the OP's last thread. My apologies.

That'll be Alice In Chains.

May I ask what it is you don't like?

It's not a matter of what I don't like. There's nothing I like. Never have.

Ten was outstanding, better than any other 90's album. After that nothing good. STP's guitarists were/are boring to me. So, I guess PJ on the strength of Ten, and Ament's use of fretless which I think gives him a unique tone and style. AIC was the best of the 90's to me. Solid album after solid album.

STP but one song by PJ always stood out for me. Yellow Ledbetter. I just love the Guitar work in that song. But wth do I know?:)

YES! One of my favorite songs of the 90's. The guitar work is super tasty.

I used to think it was called Yellow Bedwetter back in the day.

If you start there you're going to have a bad time. Core, Purple, and Tiny Music is where it's at.

I've been listening to STP since Core came out.

In my last post I mentioned that I love Core & Purple, and Tiny Music has a lot of great songs but it started to drop off for me. So much that I never gave the other albums much thought and some I never listened to at all. So on my way home I listened to those albums...

Pearl Jam gets the nod for me. STP has some good tunes, but for me I tend to ignore the vocalists in both and concentrate on the music. Pearl Jam has more that appeals to me. And, anyone that doesn't like AIC can never be my friend. Just sayin' :)
