Peavey Amps Club

I've got a soft spot for Peavey amps of all sorts, they were everywhere when I started playing in punk bands in the late 80's. I've owned a bunch of Peavey guitar and bass gear, I can usually can find them super cheap, and can't say no to a bargain. Picked this one up for $40, and later traded it for a Mesa Boogie Studio .22+:
This is a beast of an amp, but a fellow bass player fell in love with it and swapped me ata gig for his Sansamp RBI and power amp:
I found the F-800B in a combination pawn shop/scrap yard in the middle of Florida, and drove 100 miles to get the TVX412. I've only played a few shows with the 412, but it's been worth it every time, this cabinet is a wrecking machine:

These two just dropped into my lap in the last month, I can't pass up sub-$100 tube amps... The Triumph is a blast!
And then there's the Chödehammer:

You are a good person to ask this question, then. Do Peavey's have a distinct sound or are they 'neutral' and let the player add their own flavor?
Not sure I'm the right one to ask, but I've always found the guitar amps (at least through the 90's) to be a bit on "nasal" side when using the higher gain settings, but that can be dialed back with careful eq work. I think the Classic and Delta Blues series brought back the warmth.
As for the bass amps, they're somewhat flexible and closer to neutral, but I haven't owned very many Peavey bass amps. I think their range is a little limited, I couldn't get an Ampeg tone out of any of my Peaveys for example, but they're great at what they do. I really liked the Firebass 700, T-Max, and TNT.
VB-2 w/80’s vintage Peavey 115 cab
My Peavey MKIV head and 1820 cab was purchased new in May 1986 and has rocked my world for more than 30 years and still going strong. The rig coupled with any bass guitar I own covers any sized venue at tremendous clarity and volume. The perfect combination with the rig is using either my 1991 Peavey Dyna Bass or my 1979 Peavey T-40. A great rig that owes me nothing.
Sold one of my basses today and received not only money but praise for the tone the Peavey produced with my 68 Hofner. Both felt good!

It is..definitely passed every possible test this summer...Indoor / outdoor big venue..I wonder what my band mates would think If I bought another cab like that and stuck it on the other side of the stage opposite of me..lolol...
Look closer....it's a Peavey head with a TraceElliot cab
I'm sure I've posted this before. MiniMAX and Headliner 112 cab. This covers almost all my gigging needs. Even used it outside. Gets very loud for its size. I have an old Black Widow 115vx for when I really need to crank.
I've got a big Combo 300 Bass Amp, I love it to death (even though I have to do minor touch ups on it from time to time) but it's just so inconvenient to carry around. If necessary, I can carry it, but I'm not a muscular type and I feel bad when my dad has to almost throw his back out to help me. I'm thinking of eventually getting some form of wheels for the amp, either casters or building a cart. Which would be a better solution?
