I bought a passive Millennium BXP maybe 6 weeks ago(?) with case for $120. I think that was a fire-sale deal, but you can find them (4 string passive version) on Guitar Center's used gear pages all day for $129 (without case I'm sure) if you search nationwide. (I'm possibly looking for another as a backup, so I've been checking - that tells you in a nutshell what I think of this one).
I love mine. Its definitely a thinner Jazz width neck, but I like that as I've got shorter fingers. I put DR Fat Beams on it immediately (it came with flats), and the sound is just really smooth and even to my ear. There's some aggression/grind in the tone if you want, but you can back it off too.
Its a very light bass... I've never weighed it, but its easy to play 4 sets with. The basswood body helps with that I'm sure.
I use a wide Planet Waves strap, and have no issues at all with neck dive. The long upper horn & strap button position helps with that I think. The hardware all seems to be good (maybe not GREAT, but good) quality. In my mind, one easy way to find out the build quality of a bass is to do what I call the "sweater test". Rub a sweater (or any cloth) up and down the fret edges, and see if it catches anywhere. My millennium is totally smooth. I've gigged it probably 4 or 5 times since I got it, and am very satisfied.
The only thing I've had to get used to is the height of the strings off the face of the body - its a little higher than my previous Jazz bass copy since there's no pickguard I guess. I'm not much good at slap/pop, but that little bit of difference was noticable to me.
$200 with a hard case isn't a great deal in my mind, but its not a ripoff either. I'd shoot for $175 with the hard case though. Then the Fat Beams are effectively about free.
