Have you guys checked the price some Foundations are selling for on the Bay?

I see some selling for $250 and more.

I noticed that too. It seems that the prices are running about $100 more that they were a year ago. Maybe people are finally starting to discover how good they are.

I know someone in Minnesota who's going to make a bundle when he starts selling all the Foundations he's been hogging.

I've seen alot of "buy it nows" in that price range, but they don't really seem to be selling. I think the increase in price is sellers' wishful thinking. I just bought another later 90's Foundation for $120 at a pawn shop in Cocoa Beach.

Just buy another Foundation and D-tune it. Probably wouldn't cost much more, and would definitely have better intonation.

Well, I have decided I did not need 5 strings.

Drop D is the lowest I see myself playing. D'Addario Nickel Flats, lots of tension left at Drop D.

I already adapted to the different tuning, it took about 2 hours.

New guitarist loves all the new rock (Godsmack, Velvet Revolver, etc...) and it's all in drop D.

Note I can also tune up and tone fast and use a tuner pedal. Plus grouping the songs by tuning sure helps.

My Foundation has the same tuners as the T-40 and I bought a Hipshot detuner that is a perfect replacement.

Do you know the model.. guessing you have the triangleish open back tuners.. the heavier ones with tension adjustement screw on the top.

For giggles I may want to do this to one of mine..
