Peavey MiniMega 1000

When muted or when nothing is plugged in, the lights cycle through the colors. If I plugged in and unmuted, the lights stop changing, but the fan kept changing speed.
All that happened only after the amp was on for a while. This morning when I turned it on for a few minutes, the fan stayed at one constant speed. If it makes a difference, it's connected to a 4 ohm cabinet (SVT212AV). Should I be worried?

I'm not sure if what you are describing is the same thing I experienced early on with the MM. I posted a video of an oscillating high pitch, pump/breathing thing that would happen when the lights cycled. It was something I really noticed when I left the room with the amp on and then came back later.
You can set the lights to stay on one color when it's muted. That might help.
It may still be happening but I don't use the amp for home practice and haven't noticed it when playing. That was almost a year ago with no problems.

Hmm, I don't think this is the same thing. The fan definitely switches between two speeds, and it's not synced to the lights.
It's encouraging to hear that yours runs fine though. I'll be taking it to an audition this weekend so we'll see how it fares at bamd volumes.

What the fan is doing is normal. Don't worry about it. The digital speed control has a finite number of speed steps. Sometimes thermal equilibrium exists between two speed steps based on ambient temp.

As long as you're here, I'm curious as to why/how going into the effects return on the MiniMega and the KXB500 sounded so very different. Shouldn't power amps at a low volume sound pretty similar? This was with a passive bass if that makes a difference.
It finally arrived yesterday, January 24, after being ordered September 5, 2016. Comments in due course.
So I love my Minimega. Tone is great, power is there, lights are cool, but after about 20 minutes at half volume, and using a RAT, amp shuts off. This is a bstock item. Do I send it back to the online retailer and pay more money to get new, or contact peavey?
I would contact Peavey first, and see what they can do. Otherwise I would return.
Gads, I've had mine for months & months and I'm only NOW going to get to start playing through it after procrastinating like hell about getting my cab refinished. Should have the cab back today from the Line-X spray coating guys, then all I need to do is replace the handles, put on the new corners and plug in!
Well, I finally got my cab back from the Line-X place today, and they did a GREAT job with the coating! I put the hardware back on, and set it up (an Ashdown 410T Deep) with my Peavey MiniMega, and DAMN!!! All subtleties aside, this thing is shaking the paint off the walls at the 10 o'clock position!
So THIS is what real bass sounds like! Damn, I feel like it's going right through my body. Between the amp and my Sire bass, the range of tones is absolutely incredible! I cannot wait to play around with it some more.
The one and only thing I'm disappointed about is the the Aux In doesn't come through my headphones in stereo like it does with my TC Electronic BG 250.

Well, it was $65.00 at a place near Portland, OR. They are not a Line-X dealer, I was just using that as a generic term, sort of like Kleenex.
I did lot of calling around to see about pricing, and they were the cheapest. Once I get all the hardware put back on, and get the grille repainted, I'll post up a photo.
One thing is for damn sure, the coating made the cab even heavier. Weighs probably 100lbs now!
How many square feet (I'm assuming they would charge by the square foot, with perhaps a minimum charge)? Did you do the masking or did they? And to be clear, is the material the same as Line-X, or something else (I've thought about using that heavily-advertised Flex Seal)?
