Peavey MiniMega 1000

Sorry, has to bump this...

Uh, is it just me having a vaporlock or is Peavey announcing the MiniMega again at NAMM 2015? I always thought that when a company announced a better loaf of bread it wasn't a tease unless they labeled it a "concept model". I've had an intention to at least try one of these out for a year now...A year...So buying an impressive TCE BH250 for small rooms and disappointment in Peaveys carrot-and-stick advertising tactic has me ordering a BH800.

I was absolutely sure I would stay in line for the MiniMega. Someone let me know how this adventure turns out, I have gigs coming up...

When you've been building them as long as Hartley Peavey, a couple 6 month bumps is nothing in the scheme of things. I would guess that he doesn't want to put out product that's not stable enough for commercial use. I've rarely ever heard of horror stories that crop up on this forum about Peavey amps shutting down for no reason, etc.

If you're serious I think it's going to guarantee Peavey some really lackluster sales, unless the MM is the juggernaut they claim. They're way behind the class D crowd as far as entry into the marketplace, and other than hardcore brand addicts and bassists with limitless disposable funding, those of us who want class D will have ours way before then...

In all fairness, I think that Peavey was one of the first companies to start trying to produce powerful and lightweight amps. Here's a picture of the Peavey Kilobass. Not sure of the exact production dates but I'm pretty sure that they stopped making them prior to 2000. 1000 watts and only 15 lbs.....

Ah...And what was the price point? One of the attractions of class D is affordability.

I don't believe any components have been diverted. I believe this is more of an engineering resource that had been reassigned (@BbbyBld ?)
