Peavey MiniMega 1000

Well fugg. I love some peavey gear, but this was supposed to be $500 a year ago. Going to be hard pressed for me to scrape that kind of cash up for one of these.
Sleeping (a little bit) on this and I cant help but wonder if this is going to put this amp in the same boat as the VB-3. Great amp, that no one has ever seen. Regardless of how good the amp is, retailers are not going to stock an expensive Peavey. Similarly lots of consumers are going to have a difficult time justifying dropping that kind of cash on an unknown amp.
The VB-3 is listed at $1800 on Sam Ash, as well as Peavey's website. So it isnt hard to believe that they will take the MiniMega to market at $1100. I guess I can see them pricing the VB-3 so high, as it is chasing the Ampeg SVT-CL which is priced similarly. The MiniMega would be in a similar boat as the PF-800 then? At more than double the price, that may be a tough sell.
I was so looking forward to getting one of these, but I don't have enough to get rid of to get one. Can't get enough for the Eden to even think about it!

Perplexing. Similar to the IPR, where it took several years for the amps to make it to street (in quantity) after being announced and shown. This has been shown for 2 years now, and for an amp that looked to be in the sweet spot of about 600 bucks a year ago, it's jumped about 50% in price and that really puts it above where most players are willing spend for the feature set.
Pretty much. At $500, I want one bad, I dont care if they are hard to get or who I have to go through. For $1100 its a different story. Lots of great amps to be had in that price range, and they maybe easier to get.
I'm not saying this amp isnt worth $1100, I just doubt I will be able to play one with out buying one new online.
Bobby talked about this amp being $500 street last year. Now, it is $1099 STREET on peacetime.com. Hardly a 50% increase.....
Maybe all the hype here caused the marketing team to rethink the pricing.

I think it's pretty normal for street price to be anywhere from 20 - 40% off of "list". So, if the MM1000 list is $1100, it could be anywhere from $880 to 660 or so when it's sitting on a store shelf. We'll just have to wait and see.

From Peavey's site, they list the Invalid Link Removed as $2,500, with a street pricing of $1,800 which is what it is listed at most on line retailers.
The Invalid Link Removed is listed at $1500 with a street pricing of $1,100.
Yes we will have to see, but I am not holding my breath for a lower price.
@ $1100....this could be the quickest death, in history, of a Peavey amp!
Aha. Yeah, then I agree. I took it from earlier posts that the website just had it as MSRP of $1100. Oh, well. I guess I will never get to hear one being played live. Bummer....

Edit:Can't find it, as far as I'm concerned I was hallucinating. Or just senile.
Seems like he only mentioned the MiniMax price in that interview.
