Peavey MiniMega 1000

Dear MiniMega,

With your dark complexion, bold subtle curves, promises of unimaginable tone, built in effects, and mind numbing power, I have something I must confess.........I have strayed while waiting for you. Yes, its true........I tried to wait for you, but a year?? You didn't expect me to be able to restrain myself when there was all this ear candy coming out all around me, did you? The TC Electronics BH800 looked great on paper, had built in effects that were hot swappable.....had a nice preamp.....but ultimately it wasn't meant to be, I just couldn't commit knowing you were going to be available one day. Here we are again.... there is another hot little number that has caught my attention, I am trying to resist its lure, but its getting my attention with its timeless looks, uncluttered appearance and basic animalistic features and power......12 Bands of tone shaping......European Retroglide looks......Help me resist Peavey.

I feel a bit shameful. I couldn't go without an amp any longer. My shuttle 3 has not been cutting the mustard.

I grabbed a Carvin BX500 for $319, and it came with a free case. I had one before and liked the amp but it had reliability issues. I'm hoping these issues have been fixed by now.

I plan to grab the MiniMega in the future, when any bugs have been worked out and distributing is flowing freely. I'll be watching its development closely...

The next wave of new business-model economics will crush online sales outlets. First brick stores fall to online sales. Then we see kickstarter crowdsourcing where consumers prepay for products which don't yet exist. Now consumers just want to speculate on products so companies don't ever need to bring tangible goods to the market.

Bummer! I just noticed that an Aux In did not make it into the feature set of the Mega after all! That definitely takes the fever out of my desire to get one. Oh, well.

Look closer...

The aux in did get added. It's on the back.

So so sad that the 1516 is carpet covered. My cats would wreck it so fast.

Still... How much $ and what does it weigh? When can we f$@£%g buy them?!

Simple! Just have your cats recovered in tolex!

1516...street price is $399. Weight is TBD because we have not decided on what type of plywood we will use yet. I am told they will be shipping in June.

Any idea about the specs on that 2x12?

The 212 is running custom Eminence, high-excursion drivers. Power handling is 500W continuous or 1000W music power. Impedance is 8 ohms. All plywood. Street price is $399. Weight is TBD for same reason as 1516.

Thanks for the info Bobby.
What about the 1516, will that be 4 ohms or 8?

I had thought:
Hartley said it in an interview last year.

Edit:Can't find it, as far as I'm concerned I was hallucinating. Or just senile.
Seems like he only mentioned the MiniMax price in that interview.

I may have to correct this, I thought I remembered it was in the same interview where Harley talked about the "purse" these come wit.
Can't seem to find it, still digging. Google is busting results for NAMM 2014 in NAMM2015.

Yeah I know. You could finish reading before getting pedantic....

I posted the interview that you had mentioned looking for a number of times. Had our situations been reversed, I would have simply said "Thanks".
