Actually.. I'm not trying to get grindy and I'm not rolling the bass back, I'm getting too middy in the wrong freqs. I like a little growl and punch on the initial attack and as much low end as I can get without being to boomy. The gain seems to adds a great growl and some mid content that I'm trying to dial back a bit.
I'm not very good at dialing in my eq and I very quickly go 'tone blind' when I'm knob tweaking. It just takes me a while to get everything.. Just right.
Amp is fantastic - I'm the problem. Lol.
Set the high mids to narrow, and boost it all the way up. Then sweep the frequency and see where it gets worse. Once you find it, cut at the frequency instead.
