I've had about 20 minutes with the amp. I have to take my wife to the doc.
Some breif thoughts..
This amp is very impressive. It doesn't sound like Peavey amps that i remember of yesteryear. The preamp is very clean and WIDE.. . Each note speaks with
AUTHORITY. Even set 100% all knobs at 12 noon it is great. I ran it thru my small bag end 112 and dipped the EQ @ 400 hz by about 2-3 db and it was perfect for my taste. Of course all things change the second you get on a gig.
I haven't taken it to a show yet. But I will tonight.
The think fan is Very Quiet at idle.. I had my GK MBF800 on standby underneath in the rack ,and when the GK fan kicked in you knew it..
All the knobs on my MiniMega feel sturdy and firm.
The casing is made of Metal. I didn't know that . In the photos posted on
Sweetwater , it looks like a plastic housing.. Nope ,it's machined aluminum and built like a tank. IN a GOOD WAY. really nice aesthetics!
I like the Lights. And they can be Dimmed or turned off if you wish. I've settled on ORANGE right now. !LOL
The Speakons take 1/4" too....Just in case you forget your speakon cable//
Something that i have asked for from other manufactures in the past .. BUT I would not use a 1/4" unless you have an emergency and don't have your speakon cable with you.. .
I'm not 100% certain but I believe the amp has a Stereo Module strapped into MONO ... So that would mean the
"-" Negative is also HOT. That wouldn't be cool if you grounded it out.
So Use the speakon!
Today i will use One Uber 115 which is 8Ωs. Then out of town shows starting tomorrow i'll use two Uber115s.
