Peavey T-40 Club Part 2

I go my 1978 T-40 about 9 months ago and love the tones that I can get out of it. Sure it weighs as much as a Volkwagen Beetle, but I wouldn't play with anything else due to the versatility that I can get out of it. Any chance I can join this little club?

Picked up my T-40 off Craigslist for $250. Pretty sure it's a 1978, it doesn't have much wear. I love this thing, I can't believe the price.

BTW if anyone knows where I could get a truss rod cover I'd appreciate it. It's a little thing but I don't think I'll be getting rid of this bass...ever.

Keep an eye on eBay. I see parts for T series guitars/basses all the time. It might take a while, but you'll see one eventually. I just bought a set of T-40 pickups. They are the "blade style". I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them yet. I may buy a beat up Epiphone Thunderbird and drop them in that.

I had a T-40 Natural that I recently rehabbed and the only thing I couldn't find was the truss rod cover. After I sold it, I found two - each for $25. I'd have passed on that larceny.

Overnight ebay has new listings...If anyone is looking for any original parts, someone took one apart and is selling the pieces. Unfortunately for me the truss rod cover is being sold with the full neck still attached to it...

And I like your thunderbird idea, that could turn out pretty rad.

Dude! Pick up your room! ;)

I was going to say the same thing, but, that is the way my room looked when I was 15. Bass, amp, mess.

My daughters room looks the same way.... Drums. Mess.

>< Ouch guys! haha the place is a wreck, got a pedal board on the way which should help at least that corner of my room.

I may be a little too content in my bachelorhood...Guess I have to clean my room before I post pictures to talkbass again.

I love my T40. 1979, OHSC, everything clean as a whistle for $325. Just got it about a month ago and haven't put it down since. I'll have to admit the neck shape is not my favorite but that is of little consequence when I hear that sweet, sweet tone. Just found out that Norwood Fisher was playing a T40 in the early days of Fishbone. How cool is that? Can I get a number please, or do I need to post a pic for that? If so I'll do it tonight.
