I have not but those are my favorite flatwound strings and I am sure on a T40 they would be magical!

I am in the US Peavey Club and the Vintage club, but I am not in this club exclusively for T-40 owners. I bought my 1982 T-40 in July of 2017. Here are some pix.

Amazingly the inside of my case is still nice and fuzzy!

If numbers are being given out I'd like one.

I put tape wounds on my long lost 78' and it tamed the mids, sounded great.

Very nice. I sold a T-45 last year that was the spitting image of that one albeit as a T-45.

In that case just to avoid heartache I recommend not looking at the one (an '82 even...) that I sold.
SOLD - '82 Peavey T-45 with OHSC. Something Special...
I felt a bit sad looking at it just now. But then I look at the Carlo that it went towards and I feel a bit better.

It actually sold for more than I paid for it, though after the neck work it was about a break-even.

Picked this up today after a long time of hunting and scouring. Paid $700 CDN.
It's an '83 (which I wanted as it's my birth year) and in as close to mint shape I've ever seen one.
I'm now the third owner. I'll be spending some quality time with this over the weekend .

Picked this up today after a long time of hunting and scouring. Paid $700 CDN.

I'm currently going thru shipping hell over one just like yours (an '83 as seen here 1 page previous) but not quite so minty, that thing looks new. congrats on the search and find! it took a coupla yrs to find the one I wanted as well, and am hoping to acquire a maple fretted neck or two for the 40 and my 20FL = extra tonal options.

I like the LaBella's - also like GHS Progressive Flats. TI flats not so much.

what didn't you like about the tapes on it? what were they?

Nothing necessarily wrong with them. I think it came with a fairly new set of fender tapes on it. I ended up with Mangan light rounds on it at my tech's suggestion as lighter strings seemed to allow for lower action on that particular neck.

I still have the tapes actually. I keep them and some flats around in case i decide i want to experiment.

Thanks. It is indeed a fine looking bass. Just needs a minor tweak on the E string as I find it a little too low and doesn't have the best action in drop D.

Currently I ride a 2011 Yamaha Stryker but will likely be selling it this year either to upgrade to a V Star Touring 1300 Deluxe or I may go without a bike for a year or two as I'm in the midst of a career change that will see me moving and probably have little to no time to ride. It's a small sacrifice but I'll have one again in time if that's the case.

There are only a few small marks around the output jack which are very minor. Other than that, nothing at all to hint that it was ever played.

I was hoping to find a burst with maple fingerboard but when this came available in my area for $700 I wasn't going to be picky considering the excellent condition it's in.

same here on both counts, but they seem to be coveted, they're hardly ever seen for sale. I'm nuts over maple boards but in luv with the overall looks of the rosewood / burst combo on these and after I'm murdered by shipping mine will be near the cost of yours, yet well worth it, no doubt. your '82 has the metal nut which I'd have much preferred on my '83 but that can be swapped to brass just like I'll do on my T-20FL. I'd like to A / B the two for any differences as I'm in drop D too, but in lieu of that I hope to hear your thots after the honeymoon. enjoy that beauty!
