question, how do these basses do for intonation?
i have a jazz 24 right now and it is complete crap....

They intonate very well.

Out of curiosity, what is wrong with the intonation on the j24? Have you adjusted the saddles and had a tech check the nut? Is it an unstable neck? Are you refering to the tuners "holding a tune?"

i have had it checked out and intonated before my band went into the studio and i play mostly on the the E and A strings (band is in drop C#) just because of the style, but when i get up to the 8th fret it was far out of tune and even on the first fret there was major problems on my E string...
it might have something to do with the dropped tuning...

what do you think?

Hey guys, I've actually been a T-40 owner for a while now, and will post pictures shortly, but I was hoping I could get some advice from you guys.

I recently left the bass at a friend's house, and when I got it back, the pickup-selector switch was broken off. What kind of switch do I need? DPDT, or something else? If anyone has a specific replacement they know will work, that'd be even better.

Hey, I've got a T-40 as well! Can I join?

I love the thing, but when I brought it into the studio to record the engineer took it out of my hands and gave me a 60's precision to play. Is there a page detailing how to tune these things up?

Edmund you are #33. I'm not sure if there is. Why did he have you use the P bass? Nothing wrong with a good P bass, but there is also nothing wrong with a good Peavey T-40.

I'm not sure, I would string it and tune it for drop C# and then have a tech look at it.
