Peavey Tour VB-2 All Tube head. need comments!

I said it before he brought it up. If it was made in the US then why was it printed with "Made in China?" Was the back panal made in the US to be put on the Chinese ones? (that were never made)
I wish they'd turn a freakin' light on in the video clips. 
I could really go for the Tour 1x15 and 2x10 cabs under my amp, though. It would be a true Peavey rig all around.

I assume it was a pre-production model that was made in China. Perhaps BbbyBld will chime in with information.
I can see the markings very well. They also have their url to their site and a patent # I can not read.
I hope I am not the only one who can see that.

Anyway its nice the amp is made in the USA but even if it wasn't and it was a good amp I'd buy it anyway.
I know you are not. About my vision, if my mother didn't grow with horrible eyesight and felt sympathy my glasses would be coke bottles. (Is that the phrase? For really thick glasses.) She is willing to pay extra to have them thin them out so they are not so thick. I have had glasses since the third grade. Maybe earlier, I don't really remember.
i cant find anything on peaveys web saying this amp is made in the usa ... do you have a link to something ?
It says so right on the head IIRC. IMO what difference does it make if the amp is good?

I have only seen two Peavey VB-2 amps - mine, which I bought from Musicians Friend and another one which is at Guitar Center in Edina Minnesota. It's been there for a couple of months.
Both say MADE IN USA on the back. I don't know what else to say about it.
Maybe with special image enhancement you forensic researchers can see made in china in some alien autopsy video but the VB-2 I own and plug into and the only other one 've seen are both MADE IN USA.

Damn, you're right - lol. Ellefson's says made in china. Maybe that was a pre-production unit. That would agree with the story I read (see my earlier post).

Ellefson is playing a proto. It was actually made in the US (I made it!), but the chassis artwork says "Made in China" because that's where it was going to be made. Every one we've sold has been made in the US.
About the reliability issues...
The only issue we've had is a defective run of fuses. Our fuse vendor changed the fuse on us and we built about 100 like that. We have since recalled those units, so problem solved. The fuse was on the tube supply, so when it goes, the unit will power up, but no sound.
About the power supply...
The power supply is over-designed. The amp will put out 300 watts with the right tubes/biasing.

I'd like to hear peoples thoughts on this as well. I've been wanting to get into the tube head market and for a first these are the two I have in mind.
If I did go the tube head route I think I'd pick up another MM HD 212 (x2) to go with it. I used to own one and I regret selling it as it was an amazing cab and I've heard that it rocks with tube heads. I only used it with a Peavey Session bass for quite jams. (my first real head) and a Sans Amp RBI or Ampeg SVP-BSP with QSC RMX 1850 HD for loud gigs and it rocked hard (would run the MM HD 212 with my old Eden D-410T from time to time as well before I got the D-215 XLT).
Those MM HD 212's are heavy but IMO totally worth their weight!
