Peculiar Hobbies

I think the most 'peculiar' hobby of mine is collecting Disney animated features on VHS. I'm really only missing two or three of them for a full collection, like the Three Caballeros, and Make Mine Music. Being located in Europe may have something to do with their rarity: anything that was not either a classic like Snow White, Bambi or Pinocchio, or part of the Disney renaissance, is very hard to find, especially on VHS which you see less of every year.

It's really only part of my bigger hobby that is collecting movies, primarily horror and golden age animation.

Also uncommon but not really peculiar in itself: Collecting japanese video games, especially Super Famicom RPGs. I actually use the boxes as wall decoration (non-destructively, of course).

Podcasting

I have two shows on anchor.fm the musicians tavern which is a music show big surprise and Unsupervised which is more a comedy show. That segues into writing comedy I am a green horn but I need something more than music for a creative outlet and am enjoying the hell out of it.

Hobbies I need to get back into

Muay Thai

Hobbies I am interested in

Keeping reptiles bearded dragons, ball pythons, corn snakes etc. I would start with just one I like reptiles but my wife hates the idea I hope to stealth it once we have more money.

I always love seeing TBers hobbies outside of bass. It always interests me I doubt guitarists or drummers have cool hobbies like bass players.

I was thinking about getting a ball python or 2. My daughter brought it up when I was having so many health issues. I love having pets, but I could not take care of a dog or cat. She brought up the ball python and I got seriously interested. Now I'm dating a girl that would not step foot into my place if I had one, and I'm in a place that has an absolutely no pets rule. So no snek for me right now.

By the way, is anyone here into Aurora AFX(1970s) slot cars?

Also, forgot to mention in my original post, I loved Karmann Ghias. I am on my second one, and totally replaced the interior carpets and upholstery when I first got it. It only comes out Spring-Fall, and not in the rain, as otherwise the floor pan and body will rust.

My dad owned hobby shops from the early 60s into the 90s. In the 60s & 70s he had many different slot car tracks. All the way from the HO to 1/32 to 1/24 & 1/25 scales. Ovals, road courses, even HO & 1/32 scale drag strips. We even had the AMT Turnpike Slot Car Set with a ton of extra track and about every car they had. Not sure what happened to it all.

Vintage baseball (playing competitively by 19th century rules), making baseball bats, rescuing bulldogs.
In my old business we regularly made copy negatives and new prints from old prints that clients would bring in. One of those was an original 1869 Mathew Brady print of the Cincinnati Reds; Mathew photographed the team all lined up against a wall, all 12 of them, IIRC. On the back of the print, written in pencil, it said "And they won every game that year".
I have a collection of antique quack medical devices.
Dentists still use those.

Does surfing for porn on the internet count? :D
Yes. :D
